In our 5th episode of the DHINCast, we have a conversation with two very important people from Bayhealth Medical Center: Dr. Jonathan Kaufmann and Dr. John Fink.
We discuss the Covid-19 Pandemic and how it has impacted our community and how Bayhealth is helping to lead the fight against the virus in Delaware, the recent opening of Bayhealth's new campus in Milford and the history of the relationship between DHIN and Bayhealth and how we are working together to help the providers of our state provide better care for their patients.

About Our Guests
Dr. Jonathan Kaufmann
serves the Chief Medical Information Officer at Bayhealth. His area of focus is the intersection of medicine and technology and he is passionate about using technology to improve the patient and clinical professional experience in the health care setting. At the same time, he believes we can improve clinical outcomes and drive waste and cost out of the system using technology. Dr. Kaufmann earned his BA with Honors degree with distinction in History and a BA in Biology from the University of Delaware. He went on to study medicine and earn his D.O. at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His Internal Medicine residency was completed at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, DE. After completion of his residency, he moved to Honolulu, HI to work at The Queen's Health System. There he served as a hospitalist and associate professor of Medicine for the John A Burns School of Medicine. He went on to become an Assistant Medical Director for his group of 50 hospitalists, the Medical Director for Medical Informatics and eventually to CMIO. He is a Board Certified Internist with a subspecialty in Clinical Informatics. He still practices Hospital medicine at Bayhealth.

Dr. John Fink is the Vice President for Quality and Medical Affairs at Bayhealth Medical Center.  He has served central Delaware as a family physician and member of the medical staff of Bayhealth since coming to Delaware in 2000 with the United States Air Force.  Dr. Fink is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Medicine and holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety from the Jefferson University School of Population Health.  Throughout his career, Dr. Fink has been intimately involved with quality improvement projects at the clinics, private offices, hospitals and nursing homes where he has worked.  Among his many responsibilities at Bayhealth are the Medical Directorship of Bayhealth Medical Group and leadership of the Epic Ambulatory project since its launch in 2014.  Most recently he has been a physician champion for the development of Bayhealth’s telemedicine platform, which began over a year ago and has accelerated quickly through the current pandemic.
